This past weekend at D23, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek announced quite a bit that was coming to the parks for the next several years. Disneyland is getting new lands – Pixar Pier and Marvel land (hinted at) – a new Pixar event, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge of course, and even Cars Land is getting a nice Halloween themed overlay for the holiday.
Disneyland Paris will be getting a new resort, Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, and the Disney Cruise Line is getting not just the two already announced new ships, but three new ships! Ever wondered what it’d be like to dine in outer space with a view of Earth? Well now you can find out! Coming soon to Epcot’s Future World will be an amazing new restaurant located directly next to Mission: SPACE.
The new dining experience will invite guests to dine while viewing the stars! It’s that time of year again to start planning and to definitely begin saving up for Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival! This year, the event is bigger than ever with the event running a record 75 days. It begins August 31st and goes all the way to November 13th. But that’s not all that is record breaking. To celebrate 35 years of Epcot, the event will be offering 35 booths, bringing in six brand new ones to sample. Not to mention the Eat to the Beat line up they have planned for the full event.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is getting new changes to its lobby bar & lounge, as well Captain’s Grille, which will both open this October as The Ale & Compass Restaurant.
The new Ale & Compass concept will completely transform the interior of the bar & loiunge and expand it to 58 seats, while offering a new menu of classic cocktails and appetizers.

The Disney Dining Plan is always a popular thing for its resort guests. There are three options for the plan: the Quick Service dining plan, the Disney Dining plan (quick service and table service), and the Deluxe Dining plan (any where you want). I, for one, have never really considered it an option for me because every meal comes with a non-alcoholic beverage and adult beverages cost extra. So for dinner, if and when I want a beer, not only would I pay for the beer, but then I probably would not be ordering my soda and wasting the money I’d spent on it. But that’s just me.
Now it’s all changed. It was rumored last week or so and it’s officially been announced by Disney that the 2018 Disney Dining Plan will now offer alcoholic and even specialty beverages such as milkshakes and smoothies as an option for drinks. The Portobello restaurant at Disney Springs closed last week for what was announced to be a half year’s refurbishment and remodel. It was announced to be coming back with a newly redesigned menu featuring family-style offerings and new Italian craft beers and wines.

Well, it’s been open almost a year and we’ve finally gotten the chance to dine at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. Located at Walt Disney World, this new addition truly brings Southern cooking to the melting pot of dining which has become Disney Springs.
