Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort area has been under construction for the last few months now and all this time many have assumed it was for a DVC expansion for the resort.  Well all rumors were laid to rest as Disney announced a 15th DVC resort!  The Disney Riviera Resort is being constructed beside Disney’s Caribbean Beach and will be fully separate from the resort, making it its own entity.

“We’re thrilled to announce plans for a new Disney Vacation Club property called Disney Riviera Resort coming to Walt Disney World Resort,” Chapek said. “Our Vacation Club Members are among our most loyal fans, and we think that they will love what we have planned, especially the rooftop restaurant that will offer unbelievable views of nighttime spectaculars at both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.”

The new resort will be a connection point along the newly announced Disney Skyliner transport system.  It will open fall 2019, just in time for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to open and will contain approximately 300 units!
