The Portobello restaurant at Disney Springs closed last week for what was announced to be a half year’s refurbishment and remodel. It was announced to be coming back with a newly redesigned menu featuring family-style offerings and new Italian craft beers and wines.

Well, as I suspected, Portobello Country Italian Trattoria will not be returning to Disney Springs.  Just like Fulton’s Crab House, the restaurant will be undergoing a full make-over and be coming back with a brand new name, menu, and from the looks of it, will look a bit different as well.

It seems like the restaurant won’t be changing too much though.  Check Tony Mantuano will be heading the development of the new restaurant.  However, he was also the master chef of Portobello.  Both Portobello and the new restaurant will be Italian dishes 18118852_10155137435851758_1107612187944988839_ninspired by his travels around Italy. The main difference will be the serving style.

President and CEO of Levy Restaurants, who also own and operate Paddlefish and the Wolfgang Puck restaurants at Disney Springs, Andy Lansing said “We’ve been grateful to serve our loyal guests at Portobello for the last seven years.  We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the location early this fall when we unveil a new concept at Disney Springs.”

As of yet, no name or opening date for the new restaurant has been announced.
