The following should be noted as only rumors and possibilities due to nothing being officially announced. However, thanks to a survey being done by third party company called Swagbucks.com, it looks like Disney has an interest in building a new resort themed to Star Wars! But it wouldn’t just be your run of the mill Disney resort. It would be an all-inclusive luxury “Starship” resort which would reportedly be attached to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
According to WDWNT, this new resort would actually be a two night immersive experience and be all inclusive, costing about $900-$1000 per guest. It sounds a bit steep when you compare to to a standard hotel room, however, it would be so much more.
According to the survey, guests would experience a continuous, story set within the Star Wars universe which would unfold over the course of their two night stay. They will be able to have personal interactions with Star Wars characters and live performers throughout the starship. There will also be ways to engage in the story such as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and even personalized secret missions. A really neat feature is these will not only be available on the starship, but also throughout the Star Wars land.
But that’s not all guests will get for the price of their stay. They aren’t kidding when they mean all-inclusive. This Star Wars luxury “starship” will be treated just like a cruise ship as guests will be treated to luxury accommodations. For starters, all meals during their stay are included. This includes two buffet breakfasts, one lunch, and two signature evening dinners; five meals total.
They will also offer feature entertainment and even dinner shows. PLUS, guests will receive exclusive park admission to the Star Wars land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, ticket included. (Did we mention the resort is reportedly connected to the park like Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa is to Disney California Adventure park?) And lastly, the amenities on the starship include a pool area, water garden, fitness center, and even an on-board cantina with robotic droid butlers!
All of this sounds two crazy to be true. But in today’s world of immersive theme parks, it’s probably not that far away from being reality, especially since there is concept art provided. It would also make sense as to why so much land has been cleared on that side of the park, which has been supposedly cleared for parking lots.
Keep in mind, none of this is official, but dare to dream. Would you pay the $1000 per person for this truly one of a kind, all-inclusive experience? Do you think it’s smart for Disney to build an entire ‘resort’ themed to Star Wars, or is it to ostracizing? Star Wars Land is scheduled to open in 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios featuring two all new attractions.
